Seagate Media App Reviews

Hi, Ive had the wireless drive for quite a while now, using it to backup mostly pictures from my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB. I never thought Id get enough apps or media on my iPhone, but Ive only got ~20GB available on it, Oh my! So Im backing up / moving my pictures over to the wireless drive to free some space up and its working great! I especially liked that it "Phoned Home" and had an update to install, which it did on its own, all I had to do was shut it down to restart and finish the update. Pretty slick app folks!! Im very happy with the app and dont understand it only has two or three stars, very disappointing! I hope the folks were reviewing the app note the hardware itself or complain about their tech support or any other thing that has nothing to do with the app. Im happy! Bye

Love being able to connect and manage my media with this. Are the people that are leaving bad reviews even using the right app?!

I would give this 5 stars but for whatever reason I cant play my iTunes movies. I did some research and it looks like Apple blocks DRM content from being streamed to 3rd party devices

Works great, have had zero problems with it.

If I could give negative 5 stars I would. When I purchased not one but 2 goflex home drives few years back I was able to watch all my video content from all of my apple devices. But after every new update more and more problems and now I simply cant view a single movie from my collection. So disappointed I apple and goflex for being the way they are. I only wish I can get my money back!

It takes a little investment of time. But really nice for the IOS families. My MacBook Air is a little complicated, but this is one of the few devices that communicates with both.

Absolute bull$hit that you are out of luck if you want to stream iTunes in iOS 8 or above because their developers cant figure out how to fix it. Avoid this like the plague as the only thing it is good for is an over priced paperweight....

I had downloaded movies and photos from my seagate device to my phone via app as I wanted to keep some items separate from photos and after the update, all of the content I had downloaded are gone.

Great cloud based storage that is easy to use.

since iOS7, iTunes videos does not work. You Seagate dont be shame about it ?????? Still does not work with iTunes videos. This app still very confused. Ok, bought the LaCie Fuel to save and back up my travel photos. Seagate app sees the iTunes videos, but no way to watch them, if your goal is to save and view iTunes videos ......... forget it !!!!

I mostly play music, but it does this well.

So far I like it but the directories dont show thumbnails. Just an icon of what the file type is.

I realize Apple or iTunes is going to put a block on everything to support the artist and the producers of the stuff that they carry. So its beautiful for the stuff that I bought before I bought it on iTunes.

No thumbnails for photos or videos! I have to scroll through all the photos just to find the ones I want. Same with all my videos. Plays music pretty good. Cant delete photos through app either. Has to be done on a computer. Seagate NEEDS to fix the thumbnail issue!!

Im daily using to store my movies and play it on my tv. Highly recommend

The current app version crashes repeatedly on launch after starting the Wireless Plus. I have to delete the app and reinstall it to get it to work. Also does not allow the Wireless Plus to connect to the Internet.

No iOS 9 compatibility!!This machine doesnt work anymore because they have not updated the application. Just bought this last summer now its a paperweight.

Playing library with 10,500+ songs. Music playback is perfect. Please make album artwork full size in now playing screen instead of a small image. Please allow shuffle for full music library instead of only allowing to play songs by letter of the alphabet. Please allow more results for songs under genre search. Its very limited. Doesnt pull all songs associated with the genre. Please fix thumbnails. Make icons for music, square album sized. Make movies, theatre poster sized. Make pictures landscaped or portrait sized. Yours truly —everyday music listener

Sorry but had to change my review to one star. I purchased the drive with the sole purpose of being able to stream iTunes content to devices and it no longer works. Its not supported in iOS 8 or later. People are not simply going to avoid going to the latest version. Seagate should have worked with Apple to retain functionality. It has rendered my purchase worthless.
